With the rising demands for ICU beds for critically ill COVIDs, both Footscray and Sunshine ICUs now have become streaming sites. Both of these units are structurally open and look after COVID patients under ventilation hoods and Non-COVID patients in the open.

Western Health have graciously offered to take hot case practices again at Sunshine but wants all attendees to know regarding both Sunshine and Footscray ICUs: “These ICUs look after COVIDs & Non-COVIDs in the single ICU pod, with the use of ventilation hoods. Accordingly, please follow your health service surveillance guidelines”.

Given I have reinstated the sessions, those people who had previously RSVPed remain listed as attendees. If your plans have changed and you are no longer available for the Sunshine sessions on 12/10 or 19/10, please update your RSVP to allow a waitlisted colleague to have the privilege to attend instead.

This goes for any session – if you are no longer able to attend, you must update your RSVP as there are waitlists for every session essentially and given the severe limitations on available hot case practice we need to share the sessions as much as possible.
